Ponce, the largest city in the south part of the Island. Ponce was officially founded in 1692 when a royal charter turned the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel into a Parish.

In the year if 1848 Ponce was officially promote from Parish to Town, in the year of 1877 was promoted again from Town to County Seat. On this dates every Civil, Military and Judicial departments were centralized in that city.

Today Ponce's distinguished past is preserved in an historic touristic zone with a mix of colonial and modern times.
